My First...

I thought some of you might enjoy a look at the very first photo I took with my very first camera. I took this photo of my father after he gave me a Swinger Model 20. He helped me load the film but I was adamant about doing the rest myself. As you can see I had a little trouble holding the film wait...

Land 230?

I just stumbled across a 230 on the 'Bay with 12 seconds left no bidders for 4.99; well I just couldn't help myself-it's a sickness!! :ebay: Anyone have an opinion on the 230 or some advice? I may end up giving as a gift to a fellow photographer who's without a Land camera at the moment-that is if I...

Experiment in Self-terminating Fuji Film & Other Questio

Yesterday I tried experimenting with Fuji Film's self terminating abilities. Maybe I did something wrong but I was less than satisfied. I got a blotchiness (like something spilled on the photos). The image itself is fine but the glossy finish seems damaged; with a loupe the finish looks cracked. Als...

Don't know if this counts, but I just watched American Reunion. During the closing credits pictures of the cast members are shown as if they were SX-70/600 photos.

Polaroid In Waltham Mass. Demolished

The Polaroid Plant in Waltham Mass. where my father worked for so many years was demolished this past summer. Only one building remains. Polaroid opened it up once a year for a family day; I remember touring the plant and the labs many times-I wish now I'd paid more attention!!!! Here's a blog with ...

Repairing Plastic Parts

Hello, I've been having a great time with my "New" 100 Land Camera. It's in great shape except for a long, thin crack in the textured plastic on the face of the camera on the side just under the shutter cocking lever (when the camera's folded), and the plastic ring that holds the metal ret...

Hello From the Home of Polaroid

Hello, Just getting back into Polaroid cameras after a very loooong absence! I grew up with Polaroid cameras. My father worked for Polaroid in Cambridge and Waltham Massachusetts for 39 years. My first camera was a little Swinger Model 20 in 1973. When I found out Fuji was making pack film and I cou...
