Flash Sync with Polaroid 250

Postby 3rdTrick » Wed 16 January 2013 / 23:29 pm

I know that the 250 is set up as M sync for flash bulbs and have looked into the various options of adjusting the camera contacts or building a timer circuit. Some people claim to have no problem using a standard electronic flash. My intent is to use it in the daylight for portrait photography so I thought the easiest thing would be to just try it...

A little bright but at least I know it works.

I definitely see evidence of flash.

Seems to work ok with my Metz 45 handle flash so I will just continue to use it that way. What do you think?

the 100 to 300 series can perfectly deal with electronic flash as long as you only use the pc plug. it's different for the 400 series. you'll find more information here http://www.rwhirled.com/landlist/how2-packflash.htm

so enjoy your material, it's fine for your purpose.

That is great news xya because I like the 250 cameras the best and have two good working ones. Those old non TTL handle flashes work well and are cheap.

Hi there. I use an electronic Flash without problem with my 340 and 350. You will not get a visible darker zone on the picture because the shutter is not on the focal plane but just behind the lens. Anyhow, you can use the second wider aperture just to make sure the part of the lens possibly hidden by the still traveling first curtain is evenly hidden by the aperture ring. Obviously you need to adjust the flash accordingly.

Thanks, This thread is old and I have used the flash with the 250 many times with good luck. I set the flash for the aperture of the 250 and let it auto expose. The shutter exposes for the background just the way I like it.
