Polaroid 430 / Fuji film Question

Messagepar lindemanlax » lun. 23 mars 2015 / 14:59 pm

Hi, I'm new here. But, have been a Polaroid user for a few years (SX-70, and Colorpack II).

However, I just picked up a 430 at a thrift store yesterday and ordered a battery conversion thingy for it.

But, I was reading elsewhere about the stuck film tab issue due to the plastic Fuji film frame. I get that re-loading the new film in to an old, metal Polaroid frame is one solution. But, I've also read that you can break off the metal springs on the film back and that will work as well.

Any thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks!

Bruce

Hi Bruce, welcome here at Polaroid-Passion site. Please first, accept my apology for my English, rather rusty. Do not worry, the problem is easy to fix. You may find in the next garage sale in your area a very cheap grey Klapp 100 camera body and then get his back and swap with your 430's. It's really easy to do.
Come back here to share your next pictures in the gallery!
Be well in Richmond.

Thank you! I've bent the two springs down as far as I can. But, the timer housing is still a potential issue -- and I suppose that's what the 100 back would solve for me. I'll give it a shot. For now, I'll load up a pack of film and see how it goes, knowing I need to pull those tabs carefully :)

Thank you again -- and your English is perfect!

Bruce
Thanks!

I'm using a digital timer back and the timer itself doesn't even touch the cartridge! I think its somekind of myth...

But(!) I think, that the leaf springs on the timer models push the cartridge a little bit more than on the most other models, so bending them back should work fine!
It's too bad she won't live. Then again who does.
