do you know these Models?

Messagepar SX-70 Hall of Fame » ven. 23 août 2013 / 20:46 pm

Hi,

as you can see in my introuducion i'm collection sx-70 Models.
From time to time I finde some pictures of cameras that i've never seen before and so I'm not sure if they are custom made or if I should place them on my "want them list" :-)

A few weeks ago, there was this gold SX-70 on ebay in Germany. Sold for more that 600€!

Does anyone know somethin about this camera? For me it looks verry strage! A indication for beeing a coustom made camera could be the clips for the nackstrap on the backside. These clips where not on the first SX-70 Land Cameras (whitch it must be if we trust the front-plate) but on the Model-2 Cameras and on the Alpha cameras where a cold version is existing.
But this must be a costly custom made camera. If its custom made, the Body must come from a Alpha1 Gold version, whit new skin and the front-door must be from an SX-70 landcamer BC-Special for K-Mart whitch is rare too ?

So? I've heard that there should be a limited gold version of the first SX-70 Land Camera. But what does it look like? Like this up in the pictures?

And another question: I've heard about and SE (Special Edition) of the verry first SX-70 Land Cameras. Does enyone know how it looks like?

There was and ebay-auction with a silver / brown-skinned SX-70 but with a blue butten (like the SE-Ones) Under the finder there was a blue dot in the disription as well, so it doesn't look like beeing custom made. But I've never seen a Camera in this variation before and not again.

Does anyone know somethin about this camera?

So... im looking forward for your answers. Hope that ther's a freek like me out there who knows a litte more...

Kindest regards

Michael[/img]

Hi Michael! My advice is you should wait for a few days, after holydays, to find an answer to your question. The site is very quite right now. My apology, I cannot give you by myself any information or advice about this model.
Regards.

the golden camera is a rare edition, gold plated and signed by Mildred Scheel, wife of a former german president. she was the head of an organisation against cancer in her name.

there were 1000 of them, auctioned on german tv to raise money at the end of the seventies.

for more information: https://www.flickr.com/groups/polaroid_ ... 373408844/

the famous land list mentions the special edition of the first series, but I have never seen one. I have seen fakes with an "SE" trap from a 680 SE.

talking about fake traps: there were two blue button series made for the german "REVUE" chain of suppliers. they were marked "REVUE" on the trap. it would be easy to take a camera from these series and change the trap. as far as I know they were all alpha variants.

Hi Sebmanicus,

tanks a lot for the Link!
I'm collecting SX-70 SLR Cameras and I'v got more thena 30 different Models of them in my collection, so i know nearly all of them!

@ xya:

As i wrote: it could be a coustom made camera useing a golden camera for example a mildred scheel camera.

As i know there are three different variations of golden sx-70 alpha cameras:

- Mildred Scheel, limited to 1000, whith signature and number
- Golden Version for Polaroid Dealers, limited to 1000 whit number
- Golden Version for Polaroid employees, limited to only 500 and whitout any limitation number on it...
